Ashwil Community Health Foundation supports the work of community health centres across Cameroon that provide comprehensive primary and preventive care to underserved communities. Health centres provide effective and relevant health care outreach, education, and clinical services; they also provide good jobs, which generate significant economic activity; and they serve as both health care homes and anchors in their communities, improving the health of individuals and communities as a whole. Ashwil Community Health Foundation is a critical catalyst for programs that assist health centres enhance patient and population health, lower total healthcare costs, develop economic possibilities, and provide a pathway to better health for the underprivileged and uninsured. We achieve these by engaging in the following:
- Assisting community health centres in addressing their most pressing operational, clinical, and policy issues in order to improve health care.
- Inspiring collaboration, generating and collecting resources, giving direct help, and publicizing the remarkable work of health centres.
- Working with partners around the country to impact community health programs at all levels, from local to national.
- Providing a forum for the sharing of knowledge and best practices in order to assist community health centres in thriving.
- Providing assistance to community health centres in their efforts to deliver high-quality, equitable health care.
